The Breakthrough and Innovative Effectiveness of the Appropriation Maneuverin the Context of Modern Latin American Art
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article seeks to reveal possible conceptual crystallizations that could stop the reflection around the procedures of artistic appropriation. For this, the idea of a supposed pure artistic modernity and stripped of its past is reconsidered as well as the tacit belief that some specific style, element or operation is, in itself, sufficient to verify the modernity of the works is evaluated. However, by virtue of examining its modern jurisdiction, it distinguishes and examines whether the artistic proposals reconverted the available resources (transformative appropriation), whether they constructed versions of some hegemonic style (coupled appropriation), or whether they established diatribes attached to their referent (critical appropriation).
