This paper analyses the relation between religious pluralism, secular state, the cooperation with the Catholic Church and the recognition of indigenous religions in Latin America. A comparative framework including the relevant legislation of Colombia, Perú and Bolivia is adopted to contrast the Chilean case in the light of the current constitutional process.
